gardening and an occasional guest speaker.<br />

A Starter Grant of £3,380 has been awarded<br />

by the ALLIANCE Self Management Fund 20<strong>21</strong>.<br />

A Builder Grant of £59,901 has been awarded<br />

to Aberdeen Foyer, by the ALLIANCE Self<br />

Management Fund 20<strong>21</strong>. The aim of this<br />

project is to increase the capacity of people<br />

across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire with long<br />

term mental health conditions to live well and<br />

in ways that work for them, that they feel in<br />

control, connected and valued.<br />

A Builder Grant of £59,960 has been awarded to<br />

Grampian Opportunities, by the ALLIANCE Self<br />

Management Fund 20<strong>21</strong>. They aim to set up a<br />

volunteer buddy system to support individuals<br />

improve their digital skills in their own way and<br />

in their own time according to their own needs.<br />

GO have also secured £48,000 for a Volunteer<br />

Coordinator from The Robertson Trust.<br />

Home-Start Deeside, Alford and Strathdon are<br />

delighted to have been awarded £1000 from<br />

the Arnold Clark Community Fund. This money<br />

will go directly to helping local families.<br />

Milne Hall Management Committee have<br />

completed the new kitchen in Milne Hall having<br />

secured funding from a variety of sources for<br />

the project. Our Funding Officer, Donna Speed,<br />

has been supporting the group and was<br />

delighted when they were successful in their<br />

funding applications.<br />

Aden Country Park secured funding support<br />

from both the National Lottery Heritage Fund<br />

and Scottish Landfill Communities Fund (Slcf)<br />

- Suez Communities Trust, to install a new<br />

Interpretation Shelter. Interpretation panels<br />

outlining the various insects and wildlife, along<br />

with the flora and fauna in around the Aden<br />

lake are to be added in due course.<br />

And finally, fourteen local projects aimed at<br />

improving communities and places across<br />

Aberdeenshire are to share more than £2<br />

million in new funding to help drive economic<br />

recovery, improve our town centres and<br />

support regeneration activity. Earlier this year<br />

the Scottish Government announced a £38<br />

million capital injection into the national “Place<br />

Based Investment Programme (PBIP)” for 20<strong>21</strong>-<br />

22, with Aberdeenshire’s allocation totalling<br />

£2.04m. Included in the fourteen local projects<br />

are:<br />

Huntly & District Development Trust - £824,151<br />

The project will redevelop a vacant former<br />

department store in the town centre to create<br />

a modern flexible enterprise, learning, leisure<br />

and community space.<br />

Mid Deeside Community Trust - £15,000<br />

This project will deliver a significant series of<br />

improvements to Station Square including<br />

landscaping, seating and better provision for<br />

pedestrians.<br />

Broch Skate Club - £151,560<br />

This is a new project to replace the old skate<br />

park in Fraserburgh with a modern, lowmaintenance,<br />

competition standard facility.<br />

The project has significant local support and<br />

will provide another boost to the Fraserburgh<br />

Sports Hub as well as helping to address several<br />

socio-economic factors in the town.<br />

Victoria & Albert Halls (Ballater) Trust - £40,000<br />

This is a new phase of a multi-stage project and<br />

will carry out a series of improvements on the<br />

historic buildings to improve access, reduce<br />

energy consumption and consolidate the work<br />

done on creating a community and heritage<br />

hub.<br />

Deveron Projects - £104,000<br />

The project will involve the construction of a<br />

thermal glasshouse at the rear of the Square<br />

Deal building in the town centre. The glasshouse<br />

will provide additional flexible space for yearround<br />

community use.<br />
