A Starter Grant of £3,380 has been awarded
by the ALLIANCE Self Management Fund 2021.
A Builder Grant of £59,901 has been awarded
to Aberdeen Foyer, by the ALLIANCE Self
Management Fund 2021. The aim of this
project is to increase the capacity of people
across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire with long
term mental health conditions to live well and
in ways that work for them, that they feel in
control, connected and valued.
A Builder Grant of £59,960 has been awarded to
Grampian Opportunities, by the ALLIANCE Self
Management Fund 2021. They aim to set up a
volunteer buddy system to support individuals
improve their digital skills in their own way and
in their own time according to their own needs.
GO have also secured £48,000 for a Volunteer
Coordinator from The Robertson Trust.
Home-Start Deeside, Alford and Strathdon are
delighted to have been awarded £1000 from
the Arnold Clark Community Fund. This money
will go directly to helping local families.
Milne Hall Management Committee have
completed the new kitchen in Milne Hall having
secured funding from a variety of sources for
the project. Our Funding Officer, Donna Speed,
has been supporting the group and was
delighted when they were successful in their
funding applications.
Aden Country Park secured funding support
from both the National Lottery Heritage Fund
and Scottish Landfill Communities Fund (Slcf)
- Suez Communities Trust, to install a new
Interpretation Shelter. Interpretation panels
outlining the various insects and wildlife, along
with the flora and fauna in around the Aden
lake are to be added in due course.
And finally, fourteen local projects aimed at
improving communities and places across
Aberdeenshire are to share more than £2
million in new funding to help drive economic
recovery, improve our town centres and
support regeneration activity. Earlier this year
the Scottish Government announced a £38
million capital injection into the national “Place
Based Investment Programme (PBIP)” for 2021-
22, with Aberdeenshire’s allocation totalling
£2.04m. Included in the fourteen local projects
are:
Huntly & District Development Trust - £824,151
The project will redevelop a vacant former
department store in the town centre to create
a modern flexible enterprise, learning, leisure
and community space.
Mid Deeside Community Trust - £15,000
This project will deliver a significant series of
improvements to Station Square including
landscaping, seating and better provision for
pedestrians.
Broch Skate Club - £151,560
This is a new project to replace the old skate
park in Fraserburgh with a modern, lowmaintenance,
competition standard facility.
The project has significant local support and
will provide another boost to the Fraserburgh
Sports Hub as well as helping to address several
socio-economic factors in the town.
Victoria & Albert Halls (Ballater) Trust - £40,000
This is a new phase of a multi-stage project and
will carry out a series of improvements on the
historic buildings to improve access, reduce
energy consumption and consolidate the work
done on creating a community and heritage
hub.
Deveron Projects - £104,000
The project will involve the construction of a
thermal glasshouse at the rear of the Square
Deal building in the town centre. The glasshouse
will provide additional flexible space for yearround
community use.
