the “Mountain
Dew Cloggers”
organization
has existed
for over 30
years and
performed
at all but one
Caladium
Festival. The
Cloggers’
group has
grown over
the years and
is one of the
most popular
performances
at the festival.
Come and
welcome the
Mountain
Dew Cloggers
on Saturday
morning for
their 30th performance
at
the Caladium
Festival. This
group is a
huge hit.
This ministry originated in Tennessee
as the “Tennessee Harmony Boys” in the
early 1950s. After relocating to Florida,
the group’s founder Bill reorganized the
group and renamed it “The Floridians.”
After Bill’s death in 2008, his son, Joe
Long, decided to continue this ministry
with his wife Twanda, brother-in-law
Richard Joynes and dear friend Kim
Zeh. He renamed the group — The New
Floridians. They perform at various venues
throughout the year. This exciting
and intoxicating group performs each
day at the festival — do not miss the
group’s performances! They are great!
In addition to being great singers,
all members served their respective
communities. Joe Long is the Division
Chief of Operations for Osceola
County Fire Rescue and EMS, his
beautiful wife Twanda Long is a retired
process server, brother-in-law Richard
Joynes is a Registered Nurse from
Dunedin and dear friend Kim Feld is
a Police Officer with the Longwood
Police Department.
Joe Long, with the assistance of Ben
Feld, a Physician Assistant, provide
superb sound support for all the
entertainers.
