‘‘The kids were pretty excited<br />
whenthey saw the garage,the<br />
boys werestraightinand had<br />
the nuts and bolts in the vice,’’<br />
she said.<br />
Playbasedlearning islinked<br />
to the school’s curriculum<br />
objectives, pupils experience<br />
making choices anddecisions,<br />
setting goals and usingtheir<br />
initiative.<br />
It encourages discovery,<br />
invention, imagination,<br />
experimentation and<br />
exploration as ameans of<br />
learning.<br />

Tourism funds for<br />

hasreceived$158,328fromthe<br />
Tourism Infrastructure Fund<br />
for enhancementstorestareas<br />
at Taylors Stream and Awa<br />
AwaRata Reserve.<br />
The proposed<br />
enhancements include new<br />
replacementtoilets and<br />
landscaping and furnitureat<br />
bothlocations.<br />
Taylors Stream camping and<br />
picnicking area is located<br />
on theInlandScenic Route<br />
north of Staveley,and is<br />
used by picnickers and<br />
freedom campers.<br />
