Fiction Writing Summer Camp 2021
Young writers aged 11 to 13 joined us for an online Fiction Writing Camp from 26th - 29th July 2021. Imaginations soared to inventive worlds ranging from an infamous art robbery, a purple dragon who loves marshmallows, the recollections of ants, a poisoned hairbrush, some monster hunting, and crime. Each writer delved into the lives of memorable characters and twisting and turning plots.

writing a new song she writes her favourite lyrics on her phone.”<br />
I lean my head back and laugh.<br />
I realised that this is what I found interesting about people. People’s little quirks that<br />
they keep hidden away from the world and only let a handful of people see. I have managed<br />
to figure out all of hers and she is one of the most interesting people I have ever met.<br />
“She deserves better than me. I can’t give her the relationship she deserves,” I mumble.<br />
My mum simply observes me quietly and takes a sip of her tea.<br />
“Lily deserves someone who will love every bit of her no matter what and you do.”<br />
I look up and she gives me that comforting smile only a mother could give.<br />
“I promise that will be enough.”<br />
She leans back in her chair, finishing off her tea as I soak in her words. Last Christmas<br />
softly plays in the background, filling up the silence between us.<br />
