Maisoon Al Saleh<br />
is a prolific and<br />
hardwork<strong>in</strong>g Emirati<br />
artist who actively<br />
seeks out new challenges <strong>in</strong> her<br />
career and br<strong>in</strong>gs viewers <strong>in</strong>to a<br />
discussion about <strong>the</strong> importance<br />
of Emirati history. Her style is<br />
surrealist, with strong <strong>in</strong>fluence<br />
and commentary on modern<br />
Emirati culture. In her pa<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>gs<br />
and sculpture work, Al Saleh uses<br />
bold colors and shapes to create<br />
an abstract portrait or image,<br />
while implement<strong>in</strong>g unexpected<br />
details to add dialogue and visual<br />
<strong>in</strong>terest. She employs a variety<br />
of mediums across her works,<br />
which <strong>in</strong>clude acrylic on canvas,<br />
mixed media for <strong>in</strong>stallations,<br />
fiberglass and mixed media for<br />
her sculptures, and pa<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>g<br />
under seawater<br />
She has had 7 solo shows, and<br />
has participated <strong>in</strong> around 100<br />
art exhibitions <strong>in</strong> 20 countries,<br />
<strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> Emirati Expression<br />
at Emirates Palace <strong>in</strong> Abu Dhabi,<br />

by Etihad Modern Art Gallery,<br />
