Section 94D, Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002<br />
I, Samuel Timothy Doak Broughton, give notice of an extension of the local transition<br />
period over the areas of the <strong>Selwyn</strong> district owing to the May–June <strong>2021</strong> flooding event<br />
across the region.<br />
This transition period –<br />
a. comes into force immediately before 4.30pm on 4 <strong>August</strong> <strong>2021</strong>, which is when<br />
the current transition period ends<br />
b. is in force for a period of 28 days<br />
c. ends at 4.30pm on 3 September <strong>2021</strong>, unless extended or terminated earlier<br />

MILITARY EXERCISE<br />
Live Firing Activity<br />
14-15 Aug <strong>2021</strong><br />
The general public is to be advised that a<br />
New Zealand Army Exercise will be conducted<br />
in the West Melton Rifle Range area over the<br />
period 14 and 15 Aug <strong>2021</strong>.<br />
The exercise will involve up to 25 personnel<br />
of 2/4 Battalion, Royal New Zealand Infantry<br />
Regiment from Burnham Military Camp.<br />
Training will involve soldiers live firing on the<br />
West Melton Range.<br />
Live firing will occur between 8am until 6pm.<br />
The exercise will also involve the movement<br />
of troops and vehicles by day and night.<br />
The New Zealand Army takes fire risk seriously<br />
and will ensure fire mitigation is present.<br />
