Solving the working from home<br />
headaches one step at a time<br />
Here we are still in lockdown and<br />
“working from home”. What<br />
exactly does that mean? Let’s<br />
look at some things impacting working<br />
from home.<br />
Procrastination<br />
Morning: I’m tired, I’ll start a half hour<br />
late and make it up at lunch.<br />
Lunch: A person’s got to eat and take<br />
time to clear his head, I’ll knock-off a half<br />
hour later plus another 10 minutes from<br />
lunch.<br />
Knock-off: Man I’m tired, I’ll start<br />
earlier tomorrow.<br />

Distractions<br />
Your children, their children, the guy<br />
somewhere in the street who keeps<br />
pounding on his drum set without letup,<br />
the car with the noisy exhaust pipe being<br />
“warmed up” for 30 minutes before<br />
being driven, barking dogs who join<br />
one another around the neighbourhood<br />
in a parody of the nun’s chorus, white<br />
cockatoo mobs perching on the fence<br />
squawking in the dawn, midday and<br />
sundown encouraged by the neighbour<br />
who intermittently illegally feeds them.<br />
Children<br />
Enough said!<br />
Any of these things are what those<br />
running a business or working from<br />
home contend with on a daily basis.<br />
So, how do we deal with it? Try making<br />
a list of the things that are causing you a<br />
problem on one side of the page, leave at<br />
least four lines between each.<br />
Then list all the solutions to each problem.<br />
Pick the one/s that will work and put<br />
them into action immediately.<br />
