CML to open Hilltop Branch<br />
Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML)<br />
is building a new Hilltop Branch at 511 S.<br />
Hague Ave., scheduled to open to the public<br />
on Thursday, Sept. 30 following a brief<br />
ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3:30 p.m.<br />
Before the new branch opens, CML will<br />
close the temporary Hilltop Branch at 3658<br />
Soldano Blvd. Its last day of operation is<br />
Wednesday, Sept 22. At 7 p.m., the temporary<br />
location will close permanently, and<br />
customers are encouraged to visit nearby<br />
locations for library services, including<br />
CML’s Franklinton Branch, until the new<br />
Hilltop Branch opens eight days later.<br />
Additionally, before the temporary location<br />
closes, CML is offering Hilltop customers<br />
the chance to be a part of the<br />
library’s — and community’s — history.<br />
Customers can sign their names to a commemorative<br />
panel that will be installed in<br />
the new branch. This panel will be on display<br />
at the temporary location beginning<br />
Breakfast at the Lodge<br />
The Westgate Masonic Lodge #623 is<br />
preparing breakfasts once a month to benefit<br />
the Special Olympics. The public is<br />

Monday, Sept. 13. The temporary location<br />
is open Monday through Thursday from 9<br />
a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 9<br />
a.m. to 6 p.m. and is closed Sunday.<br />
The Hilltop Branch at 511 S. Hague<br />
Ave. was built in 1996 with 20,000 square<br />
feet. After a significant renovation and<br />
expansion that kicked off in early 2020, the<br />
transformed branch will have approximately<br />
32,000 square feet.<br />
In addition to being a community asset,<br />
Columbus Metropolitan Library strives to<br />
minimize its environmental footprint.<br />
With each new building or renovation project,<br />
CML plans to use sustainable building<br />
materials, incorporate glass for natural<br />
light to reduce energy costs and introduce<br />
other design and building elements friendly<br />
to the natural environment.<br />

happy just playing with each other. Mark and<br />
Lexie would be so happy to find a home<br />
together, because the only thing better than<br />
adopting one kitten is adopting two. This pair<br />
is up for adoption through Colony Cats.<br />
