MIDEA BUILDING

TECHNOLOGIES (MBT)

World-class business division in delivering world-class HVAC solutions

Established in 1999, the

Midea Building Technologies

(MBT) division of MIDEA

Group is the first to produce

Variable Refrigerant Flow

(VRF) in China with the

introduction of Toshiba

Carrier technology. The business division

has expanded immensely over the last

20 years, beginning with the acquisition

of Chongqing General Plant in 2004 that

placed MIDEA in the field of large tonnage

chiller, then the inclusion of new range

of products such as lighting in 2009, and

heat pumps with the opening of the Hefei

production plant in 2010. To make its

presence felt in the global arena, MIDEA

MBT established joint ventures with worldrenowned

brands such as Siemens, Bosch

and Siix. Additional acquisitions of the

famed Italian commercial air-conditioning

company CLIVET in 2016, and the LINVOL

Elevator in 2020 for its intelligent building

solutions, further solidified MIDEA’s

position in the competitive international

marketplace.

Today, MIDEA MBT has become an

independent arm of the MIDEA Group and
