WESTERN NEWS Latest Canterbury news at starnews.co.nz Thursday October 14 2021 3 Call for better access to board meetings THE CENTRAL Riccarton Residents’ Association is backing calls for better public access to community board meetings. Secretary Garth Wilson said the association had been trying for years to get Halswell-Hornby- Riccarton Community Board meetings audio recorded for the public record and more recently to have them video recorded. It comes after The Star reported last week that board member Andrei Moore was pushing to provide video recordings of board meetings to the public, who can not attend in person under Covid-19 alert level 2. Wilson congratulated Moore for his stand. “As Mr Moore says there have to be basic levels of transparency in place,” he said.
