Channel Seven held its Upfronts last
week with a few new shows coming our
way in 2022, along with plenty of returning
favourites. ‘The Voice’, ‘Big Brother’,
‘Big Brother: VIP’, ‘SAS: Australia’,
‘Farmer Wants A Wife’, and ‘Dancing
with the Stars: All Stars’ will return, while
‘The Voice: Generations’, ‘Australia’s Got
Talent’ and ‘Australian Idol’ will also get
a run. A new-look ‘My Kitchen Rules’ will
land on screens next year as well as renovation
spin-off ‘Apartment Rules’. ‘Home
and Away’ is back of course, and Seven
will also air new factual series’ ‘Strike
Force’ and ‘Code 1: Minute by Minute’.
Seven will be home to the Winter
Olympics and Winter Paralympics in Beijing
next year, and they’ll also broadcast
the XXII Commonwealth Games from
Birmingham, England. Seven also have
rights to the AFL, Supercars Championships,
52 weeks of elite horse racing and
the NFL Super Bowl on February 13.
While plenty of shows are returning
next year, there’s several shows still up
in air including ‘Holey Moley’, ‘RFDS’,
‘Ultimate Tag’ and ‘Australia: Now and
FEBRUARY 13
Then’. A decision on those programs will
be made in the coming months but don’t
be surprised if they’re all shelved.
NFL SUPER BOWL, SEVEN
Following the success of ‘Hey Hey it’s
50 Years’, Channel Seven is keen for more
‘Hey Hey’ nostalgic specials from Daryl
and the gang. 1.2 million viewers tuned in
to last week’s episode, beating everything
including ‘The Block’ and ‘Celebrity MasterChef’.
Now Seven want a part two and
perhaps some content for 7plus as well.
and Jessica Mauboy as well as host Sonia
Kruger are all returning in 2022.
Hugely popular ABC series ‘The
Sound’ will return on Sunday, November
7 at 5.30pm. ‘The Sound’, which launched
last year, is a live music program that
showcases Australian artists to a national
audience.
Netflix psychological thriller ‘You’ has
been renewed for a fourth season.

gig on ‘Australian Ninja Warrior’. Ben decided
to pull the pin after four years due
to workload. A new co-host for Rebecca
Maddern will be named in due course.
It’s been confirmed ‘The Voice’ coaches
Keith Urban, Rita Ora, Guy Sebastian
‘That ’90s Show’, a spin-off of ‘That
’70s Show’ is coming to Netflix next
year. In the new series, it’s 1995 and Leia
Forman, daughter of Eric and Donna, is
visiting her grandparents for the summer
where she bonds with a new generation
of Point Place kids under the watchful eye
of Kitty and the stern glare of Red.
