AN UPDATE
FROM COUNCIL
Sturt and Acacia Park upgrades
Council is thrilled to announce the next step
in the $5 million revamp of green space in
Telopea with the reopening of Acacia Park.
The popular local park has been transformed
into a multi-use hotspot for family fun. As the
weather warms up, visitors will be able to
enjoy new picnic tables, barbeques, benches
and toilet facilities.
The refurbished park also features a new
walking track with blocks for strength training,
and an accessible platform showcasing
views of Parramatta’s expansive CBD.
Council’s innovation does not stop there,
with construction work on Sturt Park now
underway.
The new recreational space at Sturt Park
includes a new playground, complete with
a flying fox, as well as a new skatepark,
multi-use court, seating, sheltered picnic areas,
barbeques and toilet facilities. The new and
improved Sturt Park is expected to open to
the public in early 2022.
The upgrades are being funded by the
NSW Government through its Precinct
Support Scheme.
