to OECD, while it’s 10-12% according to TÜİK (Turkish Statistical
Institute, translator’s note).

plastics in Turkey
were recycled in
2015.

The first synthetic polymer, aka plastic, is
invented in 1869 by John Wesley Hyatt for a
contest.
The most important detail we have to know
about plastics is this: Artificial plastics are
produced as a side product of petrol. So,
the common suspect of all trouble that exists
on environmentalism confronts us about
plastic too.
