Credit Suisse The company provides with advisory services, comprehensive solutions, and innovative products. Registered shares of Credit Suisse Group AG (CSGN) are listed in Switzerland (SWX) and as American Depositary Shares (CS) in New York (NYSE). Business areas of the company are private banking, investment banking and asset management. Assets under management are about CHF 1 554,7 billion, as of December 31, 2007. Credit Suisse Group reported a net loss of CHF 1,261 million in Q3 of 2008, as indicated on October 16, 2008, compared with net income of CHF 1,302 million in the third quarter of 2007. Core net revenues were CHF 3,109 million, down 48 per cent from Q3 of 2007 (Zurich, October 23, 2008) In Asset Management the company is focused on equities, fixed income and multi-asset class products, to alternative investments such as real estate, hedge funds, private equity and volatility management. Credit Suisse’s Asset Management business manages portfolios, mutual funds, and other investments for governments, institutions corporations and private individuals. The company has offices, focused on asset management, in 23 countries. Asset Management business is managed as follows: • Global Investors: Equity and fixed income investments, including money market investments • Multi-Asset Class Solutions: Active asset allocation strategies and solutions across all asset classes • Alternative Investments: Private equity, real estate, single and multi-manager hedge funds and other alternative investment strategies Credit Suisse’s Alternative Investments business is involved in private equity, hedge funds and other related activities. It includes Funds and Alternative Solutions, Leveraged Investments, Quantitative Strategies, and Volaris as well as a diverse family of private equity funds, including leveraged buyout funds, mezzanine funds, core and opportunity real estate funds, secondary funds and private equity fund of fund businesses. Alternative Investments business manages approximately USD 165 billion in assets. Alternative Investments raises capital for third-party managers through its Private Fund Group and Real Estate Private Fund Group.
