Odd World is a movement for piano trio alone from the multimedia music
theatre work Constantinople.
Constantinople was commissioned by the Gryphon Trio with funding support
from Music Canada 2000 and the Woodlawn and Laidlaw Foundations. The
premiere of Constantinople was performed by Patricia O’Callaghan (S),
Maryem Tollar (A) and The Gryphon Trio at Eric Harvie Theatre, Banff Centre
for the Performing Arts, AB, Canada on 29 July 2004.
This edition is a facsimile of the original score provided by the composer.

Odd World is a movement from Christos Hatzis' multimedia music theatre work Constantinople
but it has been performed since then as a stand-alone work for piano trio. The title refers to the
odd juxtaposition of styles but also to the odd-numbered meters, phrases and overall structure of
the piece. It was composed in 1999 and was commissioned by the Gryphon Trio.
