Fun day for kids on hold
The organisers of Mid
Canterbury Children’s Day
havepostpone their annual fun
day next month andwill instead
run aseriesofmini events
throughout the year.
As numbers of covid
continuedtogrow nationwide
the committee planning for the
March 6event realised it was
becoming more unlikely to be
able to proceed.
Mid Canterbury Children’s
DaytrusteeWarren Janettsaid
insteadofcancelling for the
third year in arow, committee
members opted to postpone it
and, depending onthe covid
traffic light level, holdfun mini
sessions throughout theyear.
Hesaid watch this spacefor
details on future Sunday
afternoon sessions which
would include individual fun
activities usually run on
Children’s Day such as
Pedalmania biking fun or
paintball target sessions.
Mr Janett said it was sad the
full event would not be run, but
theminisessions would give
children family fun throughout
theyearsotheydid not miss
