Once the pandemic subsides, we hope to host the festival live in
and around the United Nations and then have regional festivals in
different UN cities.
The important purposes of raising awareness of the SDGs, create
opportunities for artists or of giving artists a voice are not the
only good reasons to organise dialogues in parallel to high-level
meetings. It is also important to co-define the creative economy
agenda and talk about what creative economy development is,
and why it is important for different sector professionals.
Artists and designers are crucial participants in the creative
economy development. Beyond their intrinsic value, these
sub-sectors are of important economic and instrumental value
because of their skills that are needed in the innovation economy.
This can lead to a very much-needed business model innovation,
both in the arts sector and in the wider economy.
