Public Employee Retirees<br />

The Fayette-<strong>Madison</strong> Counties chapter<br />

of the Ohio Public Employee Retirees will<br />

meet at 12:30 p.m. <strong>March</strong> 23 at the Fayette<br />

County Commission on Aging, 1179 S. Elm<br />

St., Washington Court House. Any members<br />

Easter Egg Hunt<br />

Life in Christ Fellowship Church, 500<br />

State Rte. 142 NE, West Jefferson, is hosting<br />

an Easter egg hunt, story, and “bunny<br />

snacks” at 11 a.m. April 16 for children ages<br />

3 to 10 years old. Eggs will be filled with<br />

candy, treats and surprises.<br />

Parenting Classes<br />

Free Triple P Positive Parenting Program<br />

classes will be held from 4:30 to 6:30<br />

p.m. Wednesdays, <strong>March</strong> 16-April 6, at<br />

Hurt-Battelle Memorial Library, 270 Lilly<br />

Chapel Rd., West Jefferson. Sessions include<br />

free snacks, gift cards, and materials.<br />

Parents are welcome to attend all sessions<br />

or choose the date that fits their schedule.<br />

London Town Hall Meetings<br />

The city of London is holding town hall<br />

meetings to share information and collect<br />

public input on proposed plans for a new police<br />

department facility and a new community<br />

center. The city has placed a 0.5<br />

percent income tax on the May 3 ballot for<br />

construction of the two new buildings and<br />

for additional funding for the fire/EMS department.<br />

The town hall meetings will take<br />

place at 6 p.m. <strong>March</strong> 22, April 12 and April<br />

26 at city hall, 20 S. Walnut St.<br />

Prescription Drug Take-Back<br />

The village of Plain City will host a prescription<br />

drug take-back day 10 a.m.-2 p.m.<br />

April 30 at the Pleasant Valley Fire Department,<br />

650 W. Main St. Drop off unused, unneeded,<br />

unwanted and/or expired<br />

medications.<br />

Art Exhibit<br />

The London Arts Center, 121 E. First St.,<br />

London, is hosting “Art by Jonathan,” an exhibit<br />

of works by Jonathan Mullins Kimbler.<br />

The exhibit runs through <strong>March</strong> 27. Gallery<br />

hours are Thursdays and Sundays, 11 a.m.-<br />

2 p.m., and Saturdays, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.<br />

Full Moon Bike Rides<br />

The Friends of <strong>Madison</strong> County Parks<br />

and Trails is hosting evening bike rides in<br />

conjunction with full moons. The next two<br />

are set for 7:30 p.m. <strong>March</strong> 18 and April 16.<br />

Participants meet at Phat Daddy’s Pizza, 15<br />

E. First St., London, and choose from two<br />

routes: a 14-miles round trip to the Wilson<br />

Road trailhead and back or a 25-mile round<br />

trip to Battelle Darby Metro Park, 8465<br />

Alkire Rd., and back. It is recommended that<br />

riders wear helmets, lights, and light-colored<br />

clothing. Registration is not required.<br />

Power of the Purse<br />

Spend a night out with your girlfriends—<br />

good food, good music, good fun for a good<br />

cause—at <strong>Madison</strong> County’s Power of the<br />

Purse. Hosted by United Way of Clark,<br />

Champaign and <strong>Madison</strong> Counties, this<br />

event benefits the <strong>Madison</strong> County Dolly<br />

Parton Imagination Library.<br />

Power of the Purse is set for April 7, 5:30-<br />

9 p.m., at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 16<br />

S. Union St., London. A silent auction, live<br />

auction, entertainment, and food are<br />

planned.<br />

Tickets are $40 pre-sale or $45 at the<br />

door ($25 of each ticket goes to the Dolly<br />

Parton Imagination Library and is tax deductible.)<br />

Pup Cups in <strong>March</strong><br />

Throughout <strong>March</strong>, the London Dairy<br />

Queen Chill & Grill, 365 Lafayette St., will<br />

donate 25 cents from each pup cup purchase<br />

to the Humane Society. Last year, supporters<br />

purchased more than 1,500 pup cups.<br />

The Humane Society hopes to break that<br />

record. Participants are encouraged to share<br />

photos of everyone enjoying their pup cups<br />

on the Humane Society’s Facebook page.<br />

Blood Drives<br />

The American Red Cross is holding blood<br />

drives in <strong>Madison</strong> County. For more information<br />

Pancake & Sausage Breakfast<br />

The Friends of <strong>Madison</strong> County Parks &<br />

Trails and the <strong>Madison</strong> County Senior Center<br />

will hold their annual pancake and<br />

sausage breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. April 9<br />

at the senior center, 280 W. High St., London.<br />

The cost is $7 and includes pancakes,<br />

sausage, scrambled eggs, a fruit cup, and<br />

water or juice. Online and silent auctions<br />

are planned, too. New and gently used items<br />

will be auctioned from <strong>March</strong> 9 through<br />

April 6. To donate auction items, become a<br />

sponsor, or learn more about the breakfast,<br />

email info@fmcpt.com. (The breakfast was<br />

originally scheduled for February but, due<br />

to high COVID case levels, has been postponed<br />

until April 9.)<br />

The <strong>Madison</strong> County Senior Citizens<br />
