Issue 3 I DVLA Personalised Registrations<br />
Bidder Registration Notes<br />
We strongly recommend that you register online by<br />
visiting www.dvlaauction.co.uk. If you prefer, you can<br />
register using Forms A & B overleaf.<br />
FORM A<br />
1. ABOUT YOU — INDIVIDUAL BIDDER DETAILS<br />
This section must be completed in full in all cases (unless you<br />
have already registered for the auction online) with your personal<br />
details including your home address. The details you enter will<br />
appear on the V750 Certificate of Entitlement and on the invoice<br />
unless the section “Company Bidder Details” is completed. In this<br />
case the Company details will appear. A landline contact<br />
telephone number must be given in order for your application to<br />
bid to be processed. If you intend to spend over £5,000 you must<br />
pre-register with the auctioneers by returning this application or<br />
registering online before the deadline. A deposit may be required.<br />
2. DEPOSIT PAYMENT<br />
We require details of a valid debit or credit card registered in your<br />
name and address given in Section 1. A 10% deposit will be<br />
charged on sale day for all successful bidders. We will be unable<br />
to process your application without this information.<br />
3. IN PERSON<br />
This should be completed by bidders who wish to attend the sale<br />
and bid in person, indicating which day(s) you will be attending.<br />
Once your application has been processed you will be sent a<br />
Bidder’s Card to bring with you on the day. Alternatively,<br />
complete your application on the day and you will be given a<br />
Bidder’s Card on your arrival.<br />
4. LIVE BY TELEPHONE<br />
Please indicate the lots you would like us to call you for (up to a<br />
maximum of 4) and give details of the person(s) to contact and<br />
the relevant telephone number(s). Please ensure that these<br />
telephones can accept “withheld” numbers. This method of<br />
bidding is very popular and applications are taken on a first come,<br />
first served basis. Please submit your application to bid as soon as<br />
possible to avoid disappointment. The Auctioneers shall not be<br />
held responsible for any loss of communication or connection<br />
between a Bidder’s mobile phone or landline and that of the<br />
Auctioneers, however caused.<br />
Please note we will only accept bidding instructions from the<br />
names you supply in this section.<br />
5. LIVE ON THE INTERNET<br />
Please visit www.dvlaauction.co.uk and carry out the Speed Test<br />
to check your computer’s Internet connection. Then register to bid<br />
live via the Internet.<br />
Approximately 24 hours prior to the sale, we will email you a link<br />
to the bidding website with your login and password. The<br />
Auctioneers shall not be held responsible for any loss of<br />
communication or connection between a Bidder’s Internet system<br />
and that of the Auctioneers, however caused.<br />
6. SMS BID<br />
Register your mobile phone number with us and this will allow<br />
you to send your maximum bid up to 1 hour before the lot is due<br />
to be offered. Once you have registered, full bidding instructions<br />
will be supplied.<br />
7. ABSENTEE BID DETAILS<br />
<strong>SMA</strong> offers an Absentee Bid service. These bids are also known as<br />
'Book Bids'. Let us know your maximum bid and you will secure<br />
your lot for just one bid increment (£50 or £100) higher than the<br />
last bid against you, without exceeding your maximum bidding<br />
limit. Please note deadlines apply. Absentee Bids can be placed<br />
online up to 1 hour before the Lot is due to be offered for sale.<br />
8. DECLARATION<br />
Once the Terms and Conditions have been read, all applications<br />
must be signed and dated by the registered bidder. Failure to do so<br />
will result in the application not being processed.<br />
FORM B<br />
You only need to complete Form B if you wish to bid on<br />
behalf of a company or require a nominee.<br />
9. YOUR NAME<br />
Please repeat your name from Section 1 here in case Form A<br />
and Form B become separated.<br />
10. COMPANY BIDDER DETAILS<br />
This section should also be completed in full if the registration is<br />
being purchased on behalf of a company. The company details<br />
will then appear on the V750 Certificate of Entitlement and on<br />
the invoice.<br />
11. NOMINEE DETAILS<br />
If you are purchasing a registration for or on behalf of someone<br />
else this section should also be completed. This will allow the<br />
registration to be assigned either to a vehicle registered in your<br />
name as the purchaser or to your named nominee. Please note<br />
that individual’s forenames or initials must also be supplied.<br />
Nominee details without this information will not be accepted.<br />
Nominee details can only be altered/added at a later date with<br />
payment of a fee (currently £25).
Change language
