Issue 3 I DVLA Personalised Registrations
Determined Student
Fulfils Ambition!
Student Mudia Oghenede put all his education to good use
and miraculously proved the adage that there’s always
something for everyone – when he successfully bought
MUD 1A during the DVLA Personalised Registrations Spring
auction held in Leeds.
With a Christian name so rare – Mudia is Nigerian for ‘stand
strong’ – his friends were convinced he would not find his
perfect personalised registration even though he had stated for
a long time his desire to own one.
However, the 20-year-old Loughborough-based psychology
student did his research, put pen to paper and calculated
MUD 1A was still being held by DVLA Personalised
Registrations. A couple of emails later and the DVLA had
confirmed it was available and placed it in the Spring sale.
Student Mudia Oghenede bidding for his registration.
MUD 1A
Fortunately for Mudia, the exclusivity of his name meant he
was hardly challenged and he bought the registration with a
modest £1,100 bid.
Upon winning his prize, a delighted Mudia said: “I can’t
explain why I wanted my own personal registration so much.
After all the lengths and efforts I’d put into researching
whether there was a registration available with my name on it,
to say I was nervous when bidding is an understatement.”
He added: “Some will, quite rightly, say buying a personalised
registration while still studying is extravagant and I guess
they’re right. I see it as fulfilling a long held ambition and, of
course, a great investment.”
