London 2012 Olympic Games
I would like to start by
saying how proud we are
that DVLA is an official
licensee of the London
2012 Olympic Games.
This partnership
continues a long history
of Olympic links with
registration numbers.
Host countries of modern
games have all seen the
potential to celebrate the
sporting event through special registration numbers or
number plate designs.
In anticipation of this event, our Personalised
Registrations Team has devised some fabulous
registrations, ideal for those wishing to associate
themselves with the biggest sporting event on the
planet. My personal favourites have to be:

G011 DEN
RUN 100M
Back in 1948 when the games were last held in the
UK, DVLA didn’t even exist. This June we are hoping
for a truly memorable event, setting a cornerstone in
DVLA’s history. We look forward to you joining us at
the auction.

With the prospect of new
sporting records being set
in just a few weeks’ time,
I can confidently say that
this auction will be
setting a new record for
DVLA. This is going to
be the biggest event we
have ever held. Over the
three days, 1,750
registrations will be
offered beating our
previous record of 1,600 in 2009.
I would like to say a personal thank you to everyone
at DVLA and our auctioneers SMA Vehicle
Remarketing for all the hard work that has gone into
preparing for this auction.
The first couple of hours on Thursday morning will
be extremely exciting. This is when the main numbers
of Olympic interest are being auctioned. Make sure
you arrive early to grab your seat! But that’s not all.
Keep your eyes peeled for other key registrations
scattered every twenty lots or so throughout the event.
Don’t miss out!
With the whole world focussed on London 2012, I
can think of no better reason to celebrate the return of
a DVLA Personalised Registrations Auction to our
nation’s capital.
