The Weekly Times | TWT | 30 March 2022
The Weekly Times - TWT - cheekily describes itself as a campaigning, crusading, truth-seeking, death defying, Aussie battler-aligned, one-eyed-Tiger-led news organisation dedicated to Sydney's north west. It's one of the few remaining independently run community newspapers and turned 100 years old on September 1, 2021 - so if you want to show your support for independent media, have a quick look at the paper, submit a letter to the editor via its website or like or share one of its posts on social media. The flip book - or digital edition/replica - of the 30th March 2022 edition of TWT can be reached here: https://weeklytimes.com.au/the-weekly-times-twt-30th-march-2022/ And the most current edition of TWT is always reachable using this short address: bit.ly/OurTWT

Don’t miss your chance to win a motza
By the one eyed Tiger
There’s never been a better time to
bet ma-in-law’s funeral fund money
on the Tigers winning the grand final
with some of the more reckless
bookies touting a staggering 150 to
one odds at the moment.
In fact no team has
as good an odds as
the Tigers have right
now and you’d be mad
as a pom in the midday
sun not to take this gilt
edged, golden opportunity
to win a motza
on the Tigers winning
the Grand Final.
But get down to the
betting shop quickly
because these amazing
odds won’t last as
the Tigers prepare to
unleash their exciting
new brand of attacking
football on the Jellies,
Gummies and Bunnies
in coming weeks.
Like a seasoned professional
jockey - Tiger’s
supercoach Michael
‘Madge’ Maguire
has his team just
where he wants them
to be - with a clear
view of the pack - and
a team primed for an
upcoming surge.
Not only has Madge
the most exciting attack
in football, he’s
also got a mean new
sliding defence and a
team that plays for the
club’s famous reputation
and for each other.
“Our intent is there
and we have a committed
team,” Madge
said.
“We have a new system
and it works.”
He said he’s proud of
his players’ commitment.
“I was really proud
about how the boys
went about things this
week.
“That’s what the season
is all about, it is
about building who we
are as a group.
“It is called resilience
and
that
is
what I’ve seen.”
The Tigers two new
signings from English
champions Wigan -
five eighth Jackson
Hastings and centre
Oliver Gildart - have
been outstanding and
have exceeded the
fans expectations.
Captain and prop
James Tamou returned
last week and
we’re counting down
the games as our
ace goal kicker Adam
Doueihi recovers from
injury.
This Thursday night
we’re off to Cbus
Stadium on the Gold
Coast for an 8pm
start.
SEE YA THERE!
☐ Sign Language! Winger Ken Maumalo is one of the exciting new players who will ensure the Tigers are
your Number One best bet this season.
