Stourhead House & Gardens - Wiltshire (NT)
One of the best National Trust destinations in the South of England. The celebrated 18th
Century landscaped gardens of Stourhead are world famous; your first sight of the lake will
leave you amazed. There are stunning views around the grounds with gothic temples,
monuments, rare plants and a criss-cross of sloping walkways surrounding the lake. The
stunning Palladian Mansion, once the family home of the Hoares, is full of Georgian
treasures, Chippendale furniture and fine paintings. This really is an amazing destination and

Set in over 1000 acres of stunning 18th century parkland designed by Capability Brown and
home of the Earl of Carnarvon, Highclere has been described as the finest Victorian House in
existence and now, is the home of Downton Abbey. The castle has a magnificent library and
drawing room with the highlight being The Saloon with its 50ft vaulted ceilings. Outside, you

Located in rural Dorset, Athelhampton is one of the finest 15th Century Manor Houses in the country and is surrounded by a splendid Arts & Crafts

Excellent day to the Capital with so much to see and explore in this area. Marble Arch is on
Hyde Park at the end of Oxford Street, where there is some of the best shopping in the

Wells is one of Britain's gems and a fabulous destination for a day out. Sheltered beneath the
southern slopes of the Mendip Hills, it combines a wealth of historic interest and beautiful
architecture. Wells qualifies as England's smallest, and Somerset's only city because of its
amazing 12th century Cathedral. The wells, which gave the city its name, are located within
the grounds of the Bishop's Palace, which is still the residence of the Bishop of Bath and

Eton College. After passing Windsor racecourse, the boat goes through Boveney Lock and

Step back in time with us, as we head first to one of our favourite stopping places, Marlborough. This archetypal English Market town has that 'film
location' quality and is a great spot to stroll around and enjoy a nice lunch. In the afternoon we head to nearby Kintbury and board the 'Kennet Valley'
horse drawn barge for a 2 ½ hour cruise along the beautiful Kennet & Avon Canal. This wide beam passenger boat was purpose built for carrying

Wow! Undoubtably one of the best National Trust properties we have visited. Located in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds with extensive grounds, Buscot
Park is the family home of Lord Faringdon. Built in the Italianate country houses style, the estate has a fascinating history which has left the estate
with a remarkable legacy. There is a variety of attractions - from formal gardens to
woodlands. There are plenty of lovely viewpoints and a selection of architectural
sculptures adds interest to your visit. The house does not disappoint and houses the
wonderful Faringdon Collection of fine paintings and furniture collected over a century.

joined by one of our local guides for a tour of the Island – we try to see as much as possible

Having reopened to the public in 2018 we are delighted to be returning to Leonardslee Gardens. Built in 1801 with breathtaking views of the English
countryside and blooming displays of Rhododendrons, Azaleas, Camellias, Magnolias and Bluebells. Set in the steep-sided valley; the ponds contain a
colony of Carp fish and the combination of parkland, lawn and forest land inhabits a rare colony of wallabies and a number of deer species who

Syon Park, the London home of The Duke of Northumberland since the end of the 16th
century, lies in 200 acres of Capability Brown landscaped parkland near to
Richmond/Brentford west of London. The Tudor mansion was remodelled by Robert Adam
for the 1st Duke in 1760's with the magnificent interior decoration of the state rooms
regarded as an early masterpiece of this celebrated 18th century architect. The house has
a fascinating history which will be explored on the included guided tour followed by free

Kennet & Avon Canal Trip
Please book early to avoid disappointment as these trips are extremely popular. We travel
to the beautiful town of Bradford on Avon near Bath, with an extended stop on the way at
Salisbury and a chance to buy lunch to have on the boat. We board the superb M V Barbara
McLellan broad beam narrowboat and enjoy the wildlife and countryside on our 2 1/2 hour
cruise along tranquil stretches of water with magnificent panoramic views including crossing the Avoncliff Aqueduct. Limited places on the boat this

Best known for its fine gardens, Hinton Ampner is an elegant country house with an
outstanding collection of furniture, paintings and objets d'art set in lovely Hampshire

Sherborne, created the gardens - widely acknowledged to be a masterpiece of 20th

Famously the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, the second wife of Henry VIII, this splendid
moated castle is one of the best in the country. Inside, the splendid panelled rooms

there are 125 acres of glorious grounds to explore with many different themes. There is an
Italian Garden, English Rose Garden, maze, giant topiary chess set and Loggia which
