in the 2017/18 season. FC4 had yet another
outstanding tournament. In game one against
Tai Hang Tung, Liam Booth collected from
the kick off, stepped twinkle-toe’d through the
defensive line and dived over the line. Final
score, 6-0 to Panthers FC4. In the second
game against Valley the boys were up against
it when Valley put on two early tries. The team
regrouped and two pacey tries from Dylan
Akandu and a dazzler from Ethan Pimlott saw
Club take the match 3-2. The final game saw
FC4 come up against SCAA. Great defense
from the two wingers, Schyler Tam and Riku
Shiotani saw FC4 run out their final game of the
day 5-2 winners. For Panthers FC4 this was a
remarkable day – the team have now gone two
full seasons undefeated, and to do it on “home
turf” made it all the more memorable!

The HKFC Mini Rugby tournament was only
the second tournament of the year for the U5s.
Nonetheless, it was clear that all of the girls
and boys were moving in the right direction
(most of the time!) and quickly picking up on the
fundamentals of the game.
Attendance and team spirit was excellent and
what is most important was that everyone had
a lot of fun.
The four HKFC U5 teams were led by excellent
coaches, including Jerome Leleu, Paul
Douglas and Simon Archer-Perkins, to
name but a few of the coaching staff. Special
thanks to the Parent Pitch Monitors, including
Grace Baudy, Tony Adams, Gary Howard,
Michel Bots, Jorge Martinez, Simon Law and
Jen Flowers, who made sure all games ran
smoothly.
The teams’ performances clearly bode well.
