Our Big Boys Shine in Tiger Bowls World
Invitation 2018
Club bowlers from HKFC’s Division One Men’s teams captured two awards in this year’s
Tiger Bowls World Invitation held in Hong Kong.
The award-winning teams were:
Cup Section – 1st Runner-Up:
Tony Cheung, Johnny Tsang, Frankie Siu and Wilson Kwong
Plate Section – Champion:
Wagner Chan, Warren Cheung, Kenneth Fung and Anthony Yip
This year’s Tiger Bowls was celebrating its 21st Anniversary and attracted over 400 bowlers,
including players from over twenty countries. The two day competition taking place between
10th and 11th March was supported by Hong Kong Lawn Bowls Association and endorsed by
World Bowls.
Podium Finish for HKFC at
Guangzhou Nikko Hotel Cup 2018
HKFC Team, represented by Winnie Au, Calinna Chan, May Poon and
Esmond Lee, captured the highest honour at the Guangzhou Nikko
Hotel Cup 2018.
The competition was organised by Guangzhou Lawn Bowls Club, which
attracted over thirty teams from Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Shenzhen for
the games held at Yuexiu Park between 7th and 11th March
HKFC Lady Bowlers Unrivalled in the Bowls Grand Prix 2018
Top ranked premier league teams including our league
players from both men’s and ladies’ sections together
with HKLBA teams competed against each other for four
consecutive days of play during the Easter holidays for the
overall grand prize – The Bowls Grand Prix 2018. Not just the
HKFC teams made us proud but also our Club bowlers who
are invited by the HKLBA to represent the “all-star” teams,
including Tony Cheung, Kenny Tam, Kenneth Fung and
Phyllis Wong.
The Club’s Women’s A Team won the championship whilst our
Men’s A team captured the 2nd runner-up.
The Bowls Grand Prix 2018 was staged at HKFC, KCC and
CCC during the Easter holidays from 30th March to 2nd April.
