Assalaamualaikum and Greetings!
As Jamiyah Singapore (Muslim Missionary Society Singapore) transcends our historic 90th Anniversary, we have all the reasons to
rejoice over the past nine decades of serving the community, nation and mankind. However, in modern and competitive Singapore, where
professionalism, tenacity, and creativity are expected norms of all social service agencies, Jamiyah cannot afford to rest on its laurels. While
we take pride in the numerous services offered to the public since our establishment, we remain committed to our noble vision, as portrayed
on the Cover Page of this booklet, ‘Jamiyah Singapore: Serving the Community, Caring for All’. Members of society who are especially close
to our hearts are those who are vulnerable, underprivileged and less fortunate, whose quiet sufferings must never be left forsaken.
Hence, in this booklet, while you will be given a glimpse of our long history - including some noteworthy milestones - we would like
to also showcase a plethora of services that we tirelessly and continuously provide for the general public, irrespective of race or religion.
You will notice that the range of our assistance scheme is widely diverse and inclusive, encompassing matters such as dakwah (missionary),
social welfare, education, humanitarian efforts, inter-faith relations, and children, women and youth development. Our Welfare Homes cater
to the young and old, and our Foodbanks provide food assistance to those in need. Our Education, Child Development and Student Care
Centres nurture children in early years by instilling values and skills aimed at producing individuals imbibed with confidence, competence
and selflessness.
Beyond the vast array of our projects and activities, you will also see the deliverables and outcomes that were engendered. As you
browse through, data and figures will be presented through easy-to-read infographics. We believe our sponsors, donors, volunteers, and
supporters rightfully deserve to know how their financial support had benefited and made a difference to our beneficiaries and organisation.
Here, together with my senior management (Senior Vice-Presidents, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Strategy Officer), and the rest of our
valued staff and employees, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the above-mentioned individuals, organisations and
agencies, as well as the government, for the generous monetary contributions and other forms of support to Jamiyah Singapore over the
years.
As we prepare for the future, we are fully cognizant of the fact that the demands for social services are bound to increase significantly.
In preparation for this imminent reality, Jamiyah has already begun its transformation process. On top of recruiting committed and capable
talents, and digitalising many of our operations, we have also established a ‘Corporate Planning and Strategy Department’. Its main role is to
guide all of our Departments and Homes to align their activities and goals with the organisation’s declared vision and mission, and adhere
to the highest standards of service expected of social service agencies in Singapore.
To all our stakeholders, again, our heartfelt thanks! Your support not only has allowed us to survive for more than nine challenging
decades but has empowered us to continue to sustain and upgrade our numerous services to the public. With your continuing endorsement
of our work, we hope to do more in the years to come.
