Fri 22nd Hughenden Manor, Buckinghamshire - National Trust A highly regarded National Trust property, Hughenden was famously the home of PM Benjamin Disraeli. Surrounded by ancient woodlands and parkland, this impressive Manor House has a huge sense of history - the site of political drama and royal visits. We travel to the beautiful town of Bradford on Avon near Bath, with an extended stop on the way at Salisbury and a chance to buy lunch to have on the boat. We board the superb M V Barbara McLellan broad beam narrowboat and enjoy the wildlife and countryside on our 2 1/2 hour cruise along tranquil stretches of water with magnificent panoramic views including crossing the Avoncliff Aqueduct. Wed 27th Bombay Sapphire Distillery Tour + Winchester Come along for a tour of this remarkable site at Laverstoke in Hampshire. After stopping in Winchester, with time to explore and enjoy an early lunch, we arrive at the distillery around 1.00pm. Bombay Sapphire is one of the worlds premium Gins with its production distillery beautifully situated in an historic old Mill on the River Test. It now offers a fascinating tour of the facility where you can discover the exotic botanicals grown in the striking Glasshouses, see the huge copper infusion Stills and explore the history of the drink. Only £35.00 Wed 27th Hidcote - National Trust Beautifully situated in the wonderful Cotswold countryside, Hidcote Manor Gardens is one of the best gardens in England - a garden not to be missed. Certainly one of the most exciting gardens we have visited, Hidcote is divided in to a series of small gardens. Explore the maze of narrow paved pathways and discover secret gardens, magnificent vistas and plants that burst with colour. It’s the perfect place if you’re in need of gardening inspiration. Famous for rare shrubs and trees as well as its outstanding design features - there are water features, wild flower areas and pools with plenty of places to sit and take in the atmosphere. See the long herbaceous borders which gives a great splash of colour from July and walk amongst the old scented roses along the walkway and small garden houses. Lovely restaurant. Only £38.50 | NT Member £25.00 Fri 29th Leonardslee Gardens, West Sussex Regarded as one of the finest woodland gardens in England, Leonardslee has numerous walks to explore throughout the 240-acres of Grade I Listed Gardens, parkland, lawns and forest areas, with an abundance of fascinating fauna as well as flora. Enjoy the summer wildflowers, Dragonflies, colourful Damselflies, don't forget the famous wandering wallabies, deer and more. Expect to see the later flowering Polar Bear Rhododendrons and the sweet smelling Viscosum Azaleas. Marvel at the many rare Acer trees, with their unusually shaped, colourful, feathery leaves and their attractive bark. If you fancy something special for lunch there are a number of high end restaurants to choose from, as well as a great choice of high street favourites. If shopping is not for you, some of the best museums in the country are clustered in the area with the amazing Natural History Museum, Science Museum and Victoria & Albert Museum all nearby - free entrance. Only £25.00 | Under 17s £12.50 Fri 29th Cotswolds Villages - Stow & Bourton The Cotswolds is one of the most beautiful and quintessentially 'English' areas of the country and is dotted with delightful towns and villages with distinctive limestone cottages. We tour through the area stopping at two of the best known towns - Stow-on-the-Wold with its vast Market Square and an elegant array of Cotswold town houses, Antique shops, Art galleries and restaurants - and the delightful town of Bourton-on-the-Water with it's charming low stone bridges over the River Windrush which runs through the town. Only £24.00 August 2022 Mon 1st Monkey World Set amongst the Dorset woodland, Monkey World has been offering a sanctuary for abused primates since 1987. Not only are they doing excellent work but they offer a lovely day out for the visitor. The centre has a wide range of primates including Chimpanzees, Orangutans, Gibbons, Capuchin Monkeys, Marmosets and much more. Come along and enjoy these fascinating creatures - you may also be able to listen to one of the Specialist Talks during our visit. Facilities include a Café and Gift Shop and you can also help the centre by adopting a Monkey. You can’t bring one back on the coach though! Price includes entrance.
