Mon 4th Horse Drawn Canal Boat & Marlborough Step back in time with us, as we head first to one of our favourite stopping places, Marlborough. This archetypal English Market town has that 'film location' quality and is a great spot to stroll around and enjoy a nice lunch. In the afternoon we head to nearby Kintbury and board the 'Kennet Valley' horse drawn barge for a 2 ½ hour cruise along the beautiful Kennet & Avon Canal. This wide beam passenger boat was purpose built for carrying passengers. Facilities onboard include a well stocked bar serving tea, coffee, soft drinks and beverages. See the impressive Centenary Fountain, at 160ft the highest powered fountain in England. Inside you can discover the lives of monks in the fascinating Monastic Rooms. The Radcliffe Camera, Bodleian Library and Bridge of Sighs make up just a few of the famous picturesque buildings of Oxford. The site has recently shot to prominence as the sit of the hit BBC series - The Repair Shop. The 40-acre site has 50 buildings to explore and many are exhibit houses, furnished to recreate historic domestic interiors. Wed 13th Devon & Dorset Carvery + Sidmouth Lovely day out to enjoy beautiful scenery and stopping at the excellent Hare & Hounds Pub near Sidmouth. This traditional country pub has wooden beams and log fires with lovely views down to Sidmouth and the sea. We have included a delicious carvery with an extensive choice of fresh vegetables, gravy and extras. Afterwards we head to Sidmouth with time to stroll the seafront and explore the shops. Adult £36.50 | Over 60 £34.50 Thu 14th Lyme Regis The picturesque seaside town of Lyme Regis is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on the border of Dorset and Devon. Wonderful long seafront leading to the 13thcentury Cobb harbour famously featured in the film 'The French Lieutenant's Woman' or take the zig zag path through the cliffside gardens. But there is more to the town, with its historic church, Town Hall, market square and excellent shops and restaurants. After time in the town we head to Maidenhead to complete the day with a wonderful 2 hour cruise along the Thames passing glorious riverside houses. We have included a delicious afternoon tea. After joining the ferry from Lymington we will be joined by one of our local guides for a tour of the Island – we try to see as much as possible during the day. We take in many of the best sights and usually include Newport, Sandown, Godshill, Shanklin, Ventnor, Freshwater and Alum Bay. There will be a main stop for lunch. A great day out.
