Horse Drawn Canal Boat & Marlborough<br />

Step back in time with us, as we head first to one of our favourite stopping places,<br />

Marlborough. This archetypal English Market town has that 'film location' quality and is a<br />

great spot to stroll around and enjoy a nice lunch. In the afternoon we head to nearby<br />

Kintbury and board the 'Kennet Valley' horse drawn barge for a 2 ½ hour cruise along the<br />

beautiful Kennet & Avon Canal. This wide beam passenger boat was purpose built for carrying<br />

passengers. Facilities onboard include a well stocked bar serving tea, coffee, soft drinks and<br />

beverages. Whilst on board we have included a cup of tea & slice of cake for you! A lovely day<br />

Forde Abbey & Gardens, Somerset<br />

This superb former Medieval Abbey was founded by Cistercian Monks in 1140 and became<br />

one of the richest monasteries in the country. Set in the lovely Somerset countryside, the house is surrounded by 30 acres of award winning gardens<br />

described by Alan Titchmarsh as 'One of the great gardens in the West Country'. See the impressive Centenary Fountain, at 160ft the highest powered<br />

fountain in England. Inside you can discover the lives of monks in the fascinating Monastic Rooms. Undercroft Tearoom with delicious homemade food<br />

Bodleian Library and Bridge of Sighs make up just a few of the famous picturesque buildings of Oxford. Its charming scenery has been the inspiration for<br />

Stourhead House & Gardens - Wiltshire (NT)<br />

One of the best National Trust destinations in the South of England. The celebrated 18th<br />

Century landscaped gardens of Stourhead are world famous; your first sight of the lake will<br />

leave you amazed. There are stunning views around the grounds with gothic temples,<br />

monuments, rare plants and a criss-cross of sloping walkways surrounding the lake. The stunning Palladian Mansion, is full of Georgian treasures,<br />

Weald & Downland Living Museum - Home of The Repair Shop<br />

Beautifully situated in the lovely West Sussex countryside this superb open air museum includes rescued traditional rural buildings and tell the stories of<br />

the people who lived and worked in them. The site has recently shot to prominence as the sit of the hit BBC series - The Repair Shop. The 40-acre site<br />

has 50 buildings to explore and many are exhibit houses, furnished to recreate historic domestic interiors. Plenty of time here to enjoy the setting and<br />

take a walk around the grounds and in to the woods. Visit the café kiosk for lunch or enjoy your own picnic. Price includes entrance. PLEASE NOTE - The<br />
