<strong>Grove</strong> <strong>City</strong> Police News<br />
In July 11, <strong>2022</strong>, <strong>Grove</strong> <strong>City</strong> Police<br />
were dispatched to a business on the<br />
1700 block of Stringtown Road on reports<br />
of a theft. An employee of the<br />
business told officers that a female<br />
suspect filled a basket with cosmetic<br />
items and then left the store without<br />
paying for them. The total value of<br />
the items stolen is approximately<br />
$3,150. This incident remains under<br />
investigation.<br />
In other police news:<br />
On July 14, <strong>2022</strong>, <strong>Grove</strong> <strong>City</strong> Police<br />
responded to reports of vandalism at<br />
a home on the 400 block of Scioto<br />
Meadows Boulevard. The resident<br />
told officers that between the hours of<br />
10 p.m. and 11 p.m., an unknown<br />
party egged her house. The resident<br />
did not see who threw the eggs. This<br />
incident remains under investigation.<br />
On July 17, <strong>2022</strong>, <strong>Grove</strong> <strong>City</strong> Police<br />
were dispatched to a business on the<br />
1700 block of Stringtown Road on<br />
reports of a theft. An employee at the<br />
business provided officers with a<br />
description of the suspect’s vehicle,<br />
and alerted officers that the suspect<br />
had been involved in previous thefts<br />
from the business. The suspect in this<br />
incident has been identified, and<br />
approximately $2,500 worth of merchandise<br />
has been recovered.<br />
On July 23, <strong>2022</strong>, <strong>Grove</strong> <strong>City</strong> Police<br />
were dispatched to a school on the<br />
2800 block of Southwest Boulevard on<br />
an alarm being tripped. Upon arrival<br />
at the scene, officers located a window<br />
that appeared to have been forced<br />
open. The school was searched, but<br />
nothing was found. This incident<br />
remains under investigation.<br />
On July 27, <strong>2022</strong>, <strong>Grove</strong> <strong>City</strong> Police<br />
responded to reports of a breaking<br />
and entering at a business on the<br />
6000 block of Haughn Road. Upon<br />
arriving at work, and employee of the<br />
business noticed that the lock had<br />
been broken off of the opened gate<br />
and contacted the police. Officers<br />
found that a garage door at the business<br />
had been pried open, and that<br />
the vehicle and tools that had been<br />
inside had been stolen. This incident<br />
remains under investigation.<br />

Craft Distillers Festival<br />
The Heart of <strong>Grove</strong> <strong>City</strong> will host a<br />
Craft Distillers Festival from 1 to 10 p.m.<br />
Aug. 13 at the Town Center Park.<br />
Sample, enjoy and learn at the annual<br />
Heart of <strong>Grove</strong> <strong>City</strong> Craft Distillers<br />
Festival. A variety of bourbon and craft<br />
distillery products, food and live entertainment<br />
will be available. The Craft Distillery<br />
Festival, formerly the Bourbon Tasting<br />
event, brings a new, more spirited feel to<br />
this event, expanding offerings to also<br />
include distillery products like vodka,<br />
brandy and more.<br />
Tickets are $30 for eight tickets, cash<br />
only, and includes a complimentary cup for<br />
tasting. Most tastings are one ticket,<br />
although some products cost more.<br />
This event is inside the designated outdoor<br />
refreshment area (DORA).<br />

Mid-Ohio Indie<br />
Author Book Expo<br />
From romance to horror to adventures<br />
for young adults, the Mid-Ohio Indie<br />
Author Book Expo will feature works from<br />
local and regional authors to satisfy every<br />
literary appetite. This event will take place<br />
from 3 to 7 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Elks Lodge,<br />
www.columbusmessenger.com<br />
2140 Sonora Drive in <strong>Grove</strong> <strong>City</strong>. Book<br />
lovers can get up close and personal, discovering<br />
new authors, and purchasing<br />
signed copies of their books.<br />
Started in 2017 by local author Alicia<br />
Wiggins, the Mid-Ohio Indie Author Book<br />
Expo is intended to showcase the works of<br />
self-published authors who often aren’t<br />
included in larger book fairs. Some authors<br />
have published works through traditional<br />
publishing houses but at some point in<br />
their career decided to self-publish.<br />
Readers will find a refreshing and exciting<br />
collection of works from writers who are<br />
passionate, talented, and eager to share<br />
their uniquely crafted stories.<br />
This event will feature over 40 authors.<br />
Book giveaways and special events for children<br />
make this a family-friendly, fun, and<br />
memorable event. Admission and parking<br />
are free.<br />

Free community meal<br />
Bethel Lutheran Church, 4501 Hoover<br />
Road in <strong>Grove</strong> <strong>City</strong>, will host a free community<br />
meal every third Saturday of each<br />
month. The food will be served from noon<br />
