Simon Jewelers. These sisters excel in oneof-a-kind custom-made jewelry designs, using bold and beautiful stones form all over the world in a wide array of colors and styles. T. Simon Jewelers is owned and operated solely by women, and was founded in 1997—for the last 25 years, Tricia and Tracy have been serving the people of Sturgeon Bay and Door County.
Tricia is a GIA-certified goldsmith, who became interested in making jewelry in high school and went on to study jewelry fabrication and goldsmith design at NWTC. GIA certification means that Tricia is certified by the Gemological Institute of America to evaluate stones for cut, color, clarity, carat weight, and more to identify and classify each stone. After going to work for another local jeweler for many years, and simultaneously making jewelry out of her home as a sidehustle, she decided she wanted to start her own business in the industry. “I was told I couldn’t do it, and was advised not to start a business by an economic development company.” shared Tricia; she has obviously proven them wrong. Tracy, Tricia’s sister, collaborates with Tricia in the design process of T. Simon’s custom designs and manages the Sturgeon Bay store. The sisters have created some truly beautiful designs together over the past 25 years, with the reputation for quality and service matching the breathtaking jewelry. T. Simon Jewelers not only creates unique custom pieces, but also carry pieces from top jewelry brands in the industry; the sisters also handle any repairs you may need. These women have built an amazing business together in Sturgeon Bay, and have recently added another family member to T. Simon Jewelers: Tricia’s daughter, Celina Simon. In the past few years, Celina has begun working side by side with her mother and aunt, further entrenching T. Simon’s women and familyowned legacy. Celina is currently working on her GIA certification. T. Simon Jewelers prides itself in helping customers find jewelry that they can treasure for a lifetime, and continue to share from generation to generation. “Many things have changed in the jewelry industry over the last 25 years, not only in the styles but in how customers choose to shop,” said Tracy. “Many people communicate with us through email, text, or Facebook now, unlike the more direct approach of 25 years ago.” The methods of serving their clients may have changed, but the level of quality and customer service has not. In addition to maintaining GIA certification status and continually studying the trends of the market, Tricia has added a laser welder to her arsenal recently, which allows her to work with all types of metals and gives them a competitive advantage with upgraded technology. Tricia handles all of the goldsmith work on her bench behind the scenes, creating new, never-before-seen designs and repairing antique, never-to-be-replaced ones. Tricia, Tracy and Celina work tirelessly to maintain an expert level of care and commitment to their craft. These women are truly professionals and look forward to helping you create a custom design, find a special gift, or repair a piece that is near and dear to your heart.
