Tricia is a GIA-certified goldsmith, who<br />

became interested in making jewelry in high<br />

school and went on to study jewelry<br />

fabrication and goldsmith design at NWTC.<br />

GIA certification means that Tricia is certified<br />

by the Gemological Institute of America to<br />

evaluate stones for cut, color, clarity, carat<br />

weight, and more to identify and classify each<br />

stone. After going to work for another local<br />

jeweler for many years, and simultaneously<br />

making jewelry out of her home as a sidehustle,<br />

she decided she wanted to start her<br />

own business in the industry. “I was told I<br />

couldn’t do it, and was advised not to start a<br />

business by an economic development<br />

company.” shared Tricia; she has obviously<br />

proven them wrong.<br />

Tracy, Tricia’s sister, collaborates with Tricia in<br />

the design process of T. Simon’s custom<br />

designs and manages the Sturgeon Bay store.<br />

The sisters have created some truly beautiful<br />

designs together over the past 25 years, with<br />

the reputation for quality and service matching<br />

the breathtaking jewelry. T. Simon Jewelers<br />

not only creates unique custom pieces, but<br />

also carry pieces from top jewelry brands in<br />

the industry; the sisters also handle any repairs<br />

you may need.<br />

These women have built an amazing<br />

business together in Sturgeon Bay, and<br />

have recently added another family<br />

member to T. Simon Jewelers: Tricia’s<br />

daughter, Celina Simon. In the past few<br />

years, Celina has begun working side by<br />

side with her mother and aunt, further<br />

entrenching T. Simon’s women and familyowned<br />

legacy. Celina is currently working<br />

on her GIA certification.<br />

T. Simon Jewelers prides itself in helping<br />

“Many things have changed in the jewelry<br />

industry over the last 25 years, not only in<br />

the styles but in how customers choose to<br />

shop,” said Tracy. “Many people<br />

communicate with us through email, text,<br />

or Facebook now, unlike the more direct<br />

approach of 25 years ago.” The methods of<br />

serving their clients may have changed, but<br />

the level of quality and customer service<br />

has not.<br />

In addition to maintaining GIA certification<br />

status and continually studying the trends of<br />

the market, Tricia has added a laser welder to<br />

her arsenal recently, which allows her to work<br />

with all types of metals and gives them a<br />

competitive advantage with upgraded<br />

technology. Tricia handles all of the goldsmith<br />

work on her bench behind the scenes,<br />

creating new, never-before-seen designs and<br />

repairing antique, never-to-be-replaced ones.<br />

Tricia, Tracy and Celina work tirelessly to<br />

maintain an expert level of care and<br />

commitment to their craft.<br />
