Fri 26th Cirencester & Marlborough Lovely day out up in to the beautiful countryside of the Cotswolds. Enjoy time in Cirencester, the largest town in the Cotswolds and quintessentially English. Wander through the narrow streets, lined with the typical stone houses of the region and plenty of independent shops. Highlights include the main Market Square with the impressive Parish Church of St. John Baptist and the lovely parks around the town. Wed 31st Devon & Dorset Carvery + Sidmouth Lovely day out to enjoy beautiful scenery and stopping at the excellent Hare & Hounds Pub near Sidmouth. This traditional country pub has wooden beams and log fires with lovely views down to Sidmouth and the sea. We have included a delicious carvery with an extensive choice of fresh vegetables, gravy and extras. Afterwards we head to Sidmouth with time to stroll the seafront and explore the shops. After a later than usual start, enjoy beautiful views of the countryside on route to the charming, small coastal resort of West Bay. Once known as Bridport Harbour, the town has two piers and is lined with old cottages and characterful wooden kiosks. Enjoy time here, grab a coffee and something to eat. After, we take the stunning coast road to Weymouth. Time to admire the award winning beach and the harbour lined by Georgian houses. Good selection of shops and cafes. Around the grounds there are extensive woodland trails to explore and a large lawned area. This archetypal English Market town has that 'film location' quality and is a great spot to stroll around and enjoy a nice lunch. In the afternoon we head to nearby Kintbury and board the 'Kennet Valley' horse drawn barge for a 2 ½ hour cruise along the beautiful Kennet & Avon Canal. This wide beam passenger boat was purpose built for carrying passengers. Facilities onboard include a well stocked bar serving tea, coffee, soft drinks and beverages.
