The numerous

different

speedwells are in

the Veronicaceae

family. The leaves

are always serrated

or at least finely

toothed and the

flowers 4-petalled.

In this species the

stems have a

double row of hairs

like ‘cowboy

trousers’ and the

flowers are a

bright, deep-blue.

Very common in

grasslands.
