Globeflower

Trollius europaeus

Globeflower is in the family of Buttercups, the

Ranunculaceae. The leaves are palmate, like a hand

with toothed edges. The numerous petal-like sepals

form a sphere enclosing the strap-shaped and deepyellow

petals, explaining the flower’s name.

Rare in upland wet meadows.
