Not much to report from the club as we do not meet for the three summer months. I can report that our

May steak night was great and Ill. Joe Hagan and Lady Joyce left full of steak. I think everyone else did,

too. That is about all I remember. But I do remember the steak part. Oh yeah, and the baked potato.

We had a semi-successful hospital crusade at the Redner’s in Fredericksburg. A special thanks to Les

Keller for again serving as chairman, and for his personal donation. We found that a lot of folks that shop

at this particular Redner’s do not carry cash so that kept our total down. The blowing rain was not much

help either.

In case you have not noticed, the pavilion at the complex is getting heavy use again this summer season.

I think we sometimes forget how fortunate we are to have the great facilities at the Rajah Shrine complex.

We should also stop to appreciate the forethought and commitment of the Nobles from years past that created

what we have today. I believe that spirit is still alive and well at Rajah.

I hope to see everyone at the summer events. Do not forget Bingo and selling those Sportsman Raffle tickets.

Our next meeting for Lebanon County Shrine Club is Sept. 26 at 6:30 at Heisey’s Diner, Rt. 72 North of Lebanon. Ladies are

always invited. The dress is casual.

We have interesting programs scheduled for each meeting so please join us for great food and fellowship.

DIRECTOR’S STAFF

Finally, summer is here and the Potentate’s Picnic, outdoor meetings, and no masks!

It’s great to be a Shriner again!

Our unit would like to recognize Director Barry Reed for his many years serving the unit as our

Director. He was responsible for coordinating our parade schedule, keeping our vehicles running, setting

up the stage and second section for the

ceremonials and attending the S.D.A.

conventions. It was very hard to accept

Barry’s resignation as director for

the unit. His expertise will be missed

by all.

We are still waiting for a final

decision from the International Shrine Directors on holding the

second section at the mini ceremonial at the Pote’s Picnic. We

would also like to wish Ike Boyer well. He holds many titles in

the unit but can’t attend meetings due to health issues. The unit

misses you, Ike!

Thanks to Mic, Lee, Barry, Les and Jamie for working the

food stand at the Summer Dance Recital. It was a very successful

mini fund raiser for the unit.

Our parade schedule will not begin until the fall at Topton,

Pine Grove and Hamburg. For now, if any member can help with

cleaning or small repairs on the vehicles, please contact one of

the unit officers.

Our unit will be responsible for small jobs this summer to

help the complex prepare for different events. Please come to a

meeting of the Director’s Staff at the complex, the first Wednesday

of the month at 7 p.m.. to offer your help.

That is all for this issue, Nobles. Remember, help us hold the

rope for those who can’t. Stay safe and we’ll see you on the first

Wednesday.
