James Lewis, a 25-year-old<br />

graphic artist from Cardiff,<br />

Wales, curates content and<br />

creates famous cartoon<br />

characters for his social<br />

media followers on TikTok and<br />

Instagram. With clients like Pepsi,<br />

Wix.com, BBC, Samsung, and so<br />

many more, one can understand <strong>the</strong><br />

passion and skill James br<strong>in</strong>gs to <strong>the</strong><br />

scene with his artwork.<br />

Calligraphy is James' preferred<br />

weapon of choice as he shares<br />

his creativity with <strong>the</strong> world. After<br />

los<strong>in</strong>g his parents to natural causes,<br />

he found <strong>the</strong> creative route to be<br />

a positive way to look forward <strong>in</strong><br />

from Barry Island, from whom he<br />

rented a place to stay, gave him <strong>the</strong><br />

courage to experiment and forge his<br />

future. That is where he started with<br />

typography and letter<strong>in</strong>g, which has<br />

now garnered popularity on social<br />

media and amongst clients that have<br />

become frequent collaborators with<br />

James.<br />

Collaboration with brands is <strong>the</strong><br />

real identity of James. Recently,<br />

he had <strong>the</strong> opportunity to design<br />

Rolls Royce’s logo on <strong>the</strong>ir SUV<br />

for an <strong>in</strong>ternal event. For Rick and<br />

Morty fans, he is <strong>the</strong> artist beh<strong>in</strong>d<br />

compos<strong>in</strong>g Season 5’s awareness<br />

launch social media art.<br />

Right now, he works from a<br />

permanent studio space at Cardiff<br />

Museum Place, with a packed<br />

schedule from 9 AM to 6 PM. James<br />

confesses that dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> early days,<br />

creat<strong>in</strong>g art to earn enough through<br />

commissions was a challenge. But,<br />

with time and personal brand<strong>in</strong>g, he<br />

has been able to forget about <strong>the</strong><br />

problem altoge<strong>the</strong>r and focus on<br />

improv<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> quality of his work.<br />

“The key to mak<strong>in</strong>g good content<br />

is consistently putt<strong>in</strong>g out content<br />

that you enjoy mak<strong>in</strong>g,” says James.<br />

In 2020, he changed his focus to<br />

content creation and character<br />

pa<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>g full time, which he shares<br />

with his followers on TikTok and<br />

Instagram. Dur<strong>in</strong>g this year, James<br />

founded Precise Art, which strives to<br />

solve every budd<strong>in</strong>g artist’s problem<br />

- f<strong>in</strong>d<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> right materials to use.<br />

Shar<strong>in</strong>g his tips and choices of<br />

brushes and pa<strong>in</strong>ts encourages new<br />

artists on <strong>the</strong> block to jump right <strong>in</strong>to<br />

compos<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong>ir artworks.<br />

James Lewis recently launched his<br />

first exclusive 3D font, Versa which<br />

has been bought by designers all<br />

over <strong>the</strong> world. With this massive<br />

success, this graphic artist has<br />

worked with global brands on a<br />

range of collaborations. Next year, he<br />

will be launch<strong>in</strong>g a range of acrylic<br />

pa<strong>in</strong>ts to pair perfectly with his bestsell<strong>in</strong>g<br />

brushes.<br />

Today, James is th<strong>in</strong>k<strong>in</strong>g about his<br />

future and has aspirations to expand<br />

his product range. He also wishes<br />

to cont<strong>in</strong>ue runn<strong>in</strong>g workshops to<br />

help and <strong>in</strong>spire o<strong>the</strong>r budd<strong>in</strong>g<br />

creatives around <strong>the</strong> world. Tapp<strong>in</strong>g<br />

<strong>in</strong>to his experience as a keynote<br />

speaker at <strong>the</strong> Made by Few creative<br />

conferences <strong>in</strong> Arkansas, James<br />

wants to explore public speak<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong><br />
