JONES
As he prepares to enter his sixth season in the NFL, El Paso native Aaron Jones looks to
keep developing his game while playing a vital role in the Green Bay Packers ambitions to
win a Super Bowl.
“Every year we chase greatness,” said Jones. “That is our main goal here: to bring a championship
home, so that is where we have our mindset on.”
Jones aims to return to Pro Bowl form after missing out on rushing for 1,000 yards last
season; he eclipsed that number in 2019 and 2020. His goal in training camp was to keep
getting better.
“I continue to work on every phase, just trying to stay well-rounded and evolve in every
category,” said Jones. “I felt like I had a good game so I just continue to build upon that,
not necessarily pick up something completely new, but just build on my toolset.”
The Packers’ running game will be one to watch as Jones will form a one-two punch combo
with A.J. Dillon this season. The duo of Jones and Dillion combined to rush for 1,602 yards,
collect 704 receiving yards, and score 17 total touchdowns. The opportunity to share the
backfield with Dillion is one Jones is extremely excited about.
“I feel like we are a good one-two punch. He can do everything I can do and I can do everything
he can do,” said Jones. “We have been on the field together before. Same thing
as me and Jamaal [Williams] so it is always fun when we can get two backs on the field
at the same time.”
Jones and the Green Bay Packers open their regular season against the Minnesota Vikings
at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sept. 11.
