Wide receivers Xavier Worthy andJordan Whittington give Texas some proventhreats on the outside.The biggest question entering fall camp, iswhether or not former five-star quarterbackQuinn Ewers – an Ohio State transfer withall of his eligibility remaining – will win thestarting job. It’s been rumored that Ewers isthe favorite to do so, but Hudson Card andMaalik Murphy will compete with him for it.If Ewers win the job and excels, he could bethe major difference maker.Elsewhere, Texas must shore up its offensiveline and its entire defense, a unit that wasthird-worst in the Big 12. Four of 2021’s topfive leading tacklers return, including linebackerDeMarvion Overshown. Given the talentcoming back and another year in the system,it’s not out of the realm of possibility that thedefense could be better.With a move to the SEC looming within thenext five years, the Longhorns will find outwhere they stand when they host Alabama inweek two.
