Frans Zwols in the top of Dutch pigeon sport is almost like a gentleman’s agreement … Distinguished,
modest, but with a special eye for top quality pigeons Frans is a man with great appearance and not by
the least because of his fine performances! He forged descendants of the wonder pairs ‘Boy’ x ‘Queen’
(Vredeveld) and ‘Tip Top’ x ‘Zeeuws Meisje’ (Leideman) to 1 wonderful family of top prize winners; the
Three Musketeers family. With as most special quality; winning with a lead in massive competition!

The early seventies Frans Zwols started homing pigeons … a
tough start, but more and more Frans developed skills in motivating
his pupils, that is the key to great successes. Since the
Eighties he was therefore a very good performer, even some
years chairman of the National Dutch Association, but when
pigeons of the outer category through Harm Vredeveld and Leideman
brothers came to reinforce the breeding lofts, the final
step to top level performances was made.
Three brothers bred in 2000, called the Three Musketeers, are
the personification of Frans Zwols’ star status. In big competition
they won 1.-2.-2.-2.-2.-3.-7. against average 11,000 birds.
15 brother and sisters on the breeding loft now pass on their
great genes, crossed to a/o 1 son and 16 grandchildren to
‘Boy’ x ‘Queen’ and 1 son plus 8 grandchildren to ‘Tip Top’ x
‘Zeeuws Meisje’. A magnificent colony, excelling from 100 to
500 km with surprising excesses in long distance racing.
And a close family, so all breeders can easily breed winners.
Some of last years toppers are great exponents of the Three
Musketeers family … like ‘Eagle Boy’, 2x 1. prize winner
against 13,767 birds and 9,930 birds (also 9. from 15,066
birds and 9 from 13,410 birds), ‘Argon’ winning 1. Strombeek
6,158 birds and 3.-5.-7.-9. prize against average approx
10,000 birds and ‘Amor’ with 1. Maaseik 19,913 birds and 2.
Duffel 16,281 birds. Superstars in 2010 were ‘King of Rekkem’
and ‘Queen of Rekkem’, winner of 1. and 3. NPO Rekkem
against 19,409 birds; a great highlight for sympathetic Frans
Zwols. Both pigeons won two more top 10 quotations against
average 10,000 birds; a real Zwols quality - winning top positions
with impressive frequency!
