• Launched in 2014, CareConnect grew to over 125K<br />

members, including Northwell Health employees;<br />

Shut down in 2018<br />

• Primarily a fully insured product offering in which<br />

the majority of consumers were individuals and<br />

small groups both on and off the NYS health<br />

insurance exchange<br />

• Heavily regulated, significant start-up investments,<br />

and financial risk carried by the health system<br />

(medical loss ratio, risk adjuster, etc.)<br />

• Launched into the market in 2020, leveraging and<br />

building upon the legacy CareConnect network<br />

with support from internal & external partners.<br />

We currently have 75K lives using the network.<br />

• Target clients are medium to large sized employers<br />

with self funded insurance plans and employees<br />

that fall primarily within Northwell Health’s core<br />

catchment area<br />

• Lighter footprint infrastructure and start-up<br />

investments required and financial risk primarily<br />

carried by employer clients and stop-loss carriers<br />

• Create partnerships to expand network footprint<br />

and enhance delivery modalities to improve<br />

margin and create greater diversity and scalability<br />
