Shekinah Christian School plans fall celebration
By Kristy Zurbrick
Madison Editor
Shekinah Christian School invites the
community to enjoy an evening of autumnthemed
fun on Oct. 15 from 4 to 7 p.m.
The school, located at 10040 Lafayette-
Plain City Rd., Plain City, is holding its first
Fall Celebration. For those who remember
the Shekinah Festival from years past, the
new event is a simplified version of the old
one. Festivities will take place on the school
grounds.
“We’re excited to have an outreach for
the community again,” said Megan Lyon,
Shekinah Christian School office manager.
Tickets are $5 for adults, $7 for children
ages 3-17 years old, and free for children
ages 2 and younger. All ticket holders are
invited to pick a pumpkin from the pumpkin
patch. Decorating stations will be available.
The evening also will feature a bake sale,
bounce houses, a 60-foot long inflated obstacle
course, pumpkin bowling, straw patch
fun, face painting, and a barrel train ride.
The student-led Shekinah worship team
will perform live music.
Food will be available for an additional
cost. Among the options are hot dogs, hamburgers,
homemade macaroni and cheese,
and goodies from the Brain Freeze food
truck including deep-fried Oreos, shaved ice,
and hot chocolate.
The Fall Celebration serves not only as a
chance for the broader community to visit
Shekinah and see what the school is all
about, but also as a community service proj-
ect and fundraiser for students.
Proceeds from the event go toward a
leadership retreat for students in grades 7-
10. Approximately 50 students plan to make
the trip which is scheduled for this coming
spring. They will make a stop in Washington
D.C. to learn about the foundation of the
