male) of the 2022 3rd annual
Lou’s Blues Legendary Karaoke
Series! The Finals took place October
12th in front of a packed
house. Once again Master of
Ceremony Robert Bowen has
put on a class-act show exposing
some of Brevard’s hidden talent.
All contestants had applied for the sixweek
contest. They would go through
four weeks of preliminary rounds, one
week of semifinals, and one week of
finals. Due to the threat of hurricane
Ian the semi-finals were scrubbed on
September 28th, postponed to October
5th.
Now, Oct. 12th, 7 finalists took
the stage, each performing 2 rounds of
one song each. Most even had a wardrobe
change to be “in character.” The
judges did not just consider the voice,
important was also the appearance,
stage presence and professionalism. It
must have been a hard call because all
contestants were at their best and very
impressive. Robert Bowen, Producer,
MC, and host lead the contestants
through an American Idol style competition
with professionalism, wit, and
humor. Cindy Walker, Lou’s Blues
Karaoke DJ, spun the tracks for the
contestants’ performances while Jeff
Ross, Lou’s Blues Audio Engineer,
insured the quality was at its highest.
Each contestant was brought on stage
as Robert read out the winners from
the judges’ envelopes. The winner Bry
White received a $500 prize and the
honor to sing with one of Brevard’s
most popular band, Ana and Switch.
There was no third prize this year,
instead the second prize (each $250)
went to the best female performer
Erica Densler and the best male performers
Chad Nibert. - A little trivia:
Bry White came in second in 2021,
and Erika Densler was last year’s fan
favorite as well.
The singing contest opened with
2021 champion Michael James and
the “break” was filled with a performance
by 2019 champion Van Floyd.
Any show is as good as the music production,
the show host along with the
contestants. This is a first class event
with very talented amateur singers
- no comparison to the regular club
favorite entertainment. What both,
however, have in common is the fun
factor. Each of the contestants admitted
to a nervous state of mind, the
adrenalin was pumping. But besides
all that, it was great fun - for the contestants
as well as for the audience.
Once again, this karaoke contest has
earned its legacy fair and square.
Robert Bowen & Cindy Walker have
producing this show for 3 years.

#7 on the Billboard charts and produced
three hit singles, including “I
Need Your Love”, which climbed to
#4 on the Mainstream Rock Chart, and
“Walk On” which reached #14. Upon
original singer Brad Delp’s return to
Boston for the concert tour, the two
shared vocals in concert, where Delp
said Cosmo covered “the really tough
high parts”. In 1997, Cosmo was again
featured on two of the songs on Boston’s
‘Greatest Hits’ album, and took
an even larger role in the 2002 album
Corporate America with the addition of
co-production to his credits as vocalist.
He sang lead vocals on five of the album’s
songs and played guitar on one
track as well.
Cosmo performed in Boston tours
from 1994 to 2004, and currently performs
in the band Cosmo with his son,
Anton Cosmo. He also sings in the
World Classic Rockers. Cosmo released
his first album with his band in
2006, titled Alien.
