Z FICTION
2009-2013
(40 photographs)

The Z FICTION series was produced between 2009 to 2013, with a majority
created in 2010. There are approximately seventy pieces made, all birthed with
a fictitious approach - a continuation of my previous multi-layer photo-based
works. The “after-image” text is an integral part of the work, which extends and
expands the horizon of the ostensibly silent image.
Ten limited editions are issued for each work in the Z FICTION series, in sheet
size of 17x22 inch.

In 2010, an editor invited me to contribute a suite of recent
work to a Chinese weekly magazine in Hong Kong. I picked
six pieces from the Z FICTION, and attached a brief Chinese
translation for each. Those six pieces were later chosen
for an exhibition in Hong Kong, “30x30”, organized by
Anothermountainman in 2011. I subtitled the six pieces:
“Six Short Stories about the Decisive Moment”「 和 決 定
性 瞬 間 有 關 的 六 個 短 篇 」. In the same year, I began to
transcribe some of the pieces in Z FICTION to Chinese, and
seeing them as variations to the originals.
Works in Z FICTION Chinese version (Z 話 本 ), ten limited
editions are issued for each, in sheet size of 11x17 inch.
Some of these variations were published, since 2014, in my
column at the “Voice & Verse” ( 聲 韻 詩 刊 ).
