New exhibits and updates
We are updating the John Glenn and Scott Carpenter
exhibit with new story boards and photo boards. People
often comment that they did not realize that Turks &
Caicos Islands played such an important role in the
space race of the 1960s.
We have added a Donkey and Cart exhibit to the
Salt Industry section. One of the most frequently asked
questions is, “What’s up with all the donkeys?” This
exhibit explains why they are on the Salt Islands and
the integral role they played in the salt industry and in
the early settlement of the Islands.
Current days & hours of operation:
Grand Turk (Front Street): Hours vary daily, but in general
open on all cruise ship days 9 AM to 1 PM. When a
ship arrives on or after 11 AM, we will open one hour
after arrival for three hours.

We continue to work on the People of the Islands
exhibit. We have new banners of several of the people
interviewed. Additional story boards and banners are
being added regarding the history each of the inhabited
islands.
Part of the exhibits will be finished by the end of
November, with the final touches being completed by
end of this year. a
Providenciales (The Village of Grace Bay): Open
Tuesday and Thursday, 10 AM to 2 PM.
Both locations include interesting exhibits and artifacts
related to the history and culture of the Islands.
Visit our gift shops for souvenirs, history books, and
locally made products such as baskets, jewelry, salt
products and more.

Hurricane Fiona
The Grand Turk museum did not suffer any damage
during Hurricane Fiona. The botanical garden
did lose some fencing that was quickly repaired. The
Providenciales location suffered minor damage to the
Heritage House roof and repairs are undergoing. a
