Q. 5: Art thou able to keep all these things perfectly?<br />

A. No truly: 1 for by nature I am prone to the<br />

hatred of God, and of my neighbors. 2<br />

1 Rom. 3:10. As it is written: "There is none righteous,<br />

no, not one. 23. For all have sinned and fall short of the<br />

glory of God. 1 John 1:8. If we say that we have no sin,<br />

we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.<br />

2 Rom. 8:7. Because the carnal mind is enmity against<br />

God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed<br />

can be. Eph. 2:3. Among whom also we all once<br />

conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling<br />

the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by<br />

nature children of wrath, just as the others. Tit. 3:3. For<br />

we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient,<br />

deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in<br />

malice and envy, hateful and hating one another.<br />
