In a nutshell

See & Do

There is an abundance of great things to see

and do on both sides of the crossing.

Falmouth

The third largest, natural deep water harbour

in the world, Falmouth is an active port with

a vibrant culture; home to the award winning

National Maritime Museum Cornwall as well

as the impressive Pendennis Castle.

Our Ferries

The Duchess of Cornwall was handcrafted by

local boat builders Cockwells in 2008, and is the

first ferry to be constructed in traditional wood

for over a generation. Capacity is never a problem

as each ferry can carry up to 100 passengers and

covered seating is provided in case we get some

of that ‘Cornish Liquid Sunshine’. The route

forms part of the South West Coast Path,

see the Roseland Ramble page 52.

St Mawes & The Roseland

Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty,

St Mawes and the Roseland is one of Cornwall’s

hidden gems. The pace of life on the Roseland slows

down as you enjoy the stunning scenery, secluded

beaches and a great selection of achievable walks.

The Past

Since 1827 the ferry running between St Mawes

& Falmouth has seen a multitude of vessels

operating on this well established route.

Since its inception, over 50 million passengers

have made this historic journey. Historically the

ferries used to double up as tugs to local ships.

Late Ferries

Thursdays in July & August only: Late ferries

will run between Falmouth Prince of Wales Pier -

St Mawes hourly. Depart Falmouth 18:15, 19:15,

20:15, 21:15. Depart St Mawes: 18:45, 19:45, 20:45

& 21:45. Plus normal summer timetable.
