OUR PICK
10 Best Waterparks
Step out of your resort and into the world’s best waterparks!
Waterparks. They make pool days look dull. A way to stay
cool in the holiday heat and entertain quite literally everyone
in your family, and with most boasting multi-cuisine food
courts, these make for a fantastically easy day out of your
resort. If you haven’t ventured to a waterpark in the last
decade or two, then you’re in for a treat. Not only are today’s
hydrating adventures more adventurous, they’re more
hygienic and safety conscious too. While waterparks tend
to have similar slides and rides, each make their own mark,
with some offering elevated experiences.
1. FASOURI WATERMANIA LIMASSOL
The largest waterpark in Cyprus has a Polynesian theme, where
you’ll find many wooden pergolas, a tarzan swing, wave pool, and
paddle boats. There are over 30 slides, including the famous Black
Cannon where you become a human ball, a six lane mat racer so
the entire family can race one another, and an interactive Juice
Factory. There’s also two restaurants and three snack bars.
2. WATERWORLD AYIA NAPA
Step into Ancient Greece with this sprawling waterpark, which
features children’s areas, an adults-only pool, and Aphrodite’s Baths
with ‘bubble benches’. Poseidon Wave Pool is incredible, Minotaur’s
Labyrinth with its Big Wet Bubble is just plain childish fun, while the
Drop to Atlantis is one of the world's most sensory water slides as you
twist and drop into a pool below. Under palm trees and themed in
chic Mykonos style, book one of the 25 VIP Thea Beach Cabanas to
add a touch of luxury and privacy to your day out.
3. YAS WATERWORLD ABU DHABI
More than just a waterpark, Yas Waterworld holds the Middle
East’s longest suspended rollercoaster, the Bandit Bomber, which
is over 550 metres long and filled with surprising special effects.
Then there’s Dawwama, a high intensity raft ride for six people,
where you tornado down from mountaintop heights. Learn to surf at
Bubbles Barrel, the world’s largest surfing sheet wave, bodyboard
on the Rush Rider, and get all the family into full-blown water
balloon warfare at Cannon Point.
4. SIAM PARK TENERIFE
Arguably the world’s best waterpark according to Trip Advisor and
winning multiple awards for best theme park, Siam Park is bound
to bring extra joy to your Tenerife holiday. Spread out over 46
landscaped acres, the park has a distinct Southeast Asian theme,
whether you’re heading off on an inflatable rubber boat down the
Mekong Rapids, floating with three others down the zero gravity
Dragon slide, or tucking into snacks and souvenirs at the Floating
Market. There are several star attractions, including the Singha
water rollercoaster, the adrenaline-fuelled Tower of Power where
you pass through an aquarium of sharks and rays, and the treetop
Bodhi Trail. Join the Champagne Club and relax with premium
services and a bottle of champagne on Balinese beds!
