Greyhound

owner named

Master of

Culinary Arts

Daniel Crump, co-owner of the Greyhound in

Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, has been

named as a Master of Culinary Arts (MCA) –

becoming one of just 25 people to have ever

achieved the accolade for service in the UK.

Crump, 33, was presented the award at Claridge’s

hotel in London on Friday 28 October in front of

more than 300 high-profile individuals from across

the hospitality sector, including Michel Roux Jr,

Alain Roux, and Raymond Blanc.

Launched in 1987 and held every four years, the

MCA recognises outstanding craftsmanship in

hospitality. As part of the MCA, professionals are

taken through a rigorous assessment process

and must prove advanced technical skill and

professional ability; demonstrate comprehensive

knowledge of the principles of sustainability

and the viability of our food sources throughout

the scope of the food chain; and support the

development of others.

Crump said: “I could not be prouder to have been

named a Master of Culinary Arts. It’s something

so many hospitality professionals strive to

achieve during their careers. This, along with

opening the Greyhound, is one of the proudest

moments of my career to date.”

Chiltern Rangers

This winter we welcome you, the local

communities of Beaconsfield and Amersham,

to help us help nature in your patch.

We have a number of projects and volunteer

sessions are running most days where you can

join us for the whole day or for a few hours to

give back to wildlife in Buckinghamshire.

Why? Meet new people, learn or enhance

practical skills and gain knowledge about our

precious landscape and the wildlife that lives

here. You never know we might even have

some fun too!!

We will be working in and on woodlands, chalk

streams, and various nature reserves as you might

expect but also hospital gardens and community

green spaces in need of some TLC.

We have a new native tree and shrub nursery

in Winchmore Hill and a wildflower nursery in

Tylers Green where your green fingers are really

welcome to help us too.

Want to learn more? Please email

info@chilternrangers.co.uk or sign up to be a

volunteer here. All of our sessions can be seen

on our Eventbrite Page and you can follow us on

and Facebook.

We can’t wait to meet you -

the tea is brewing and the

gloves and tools await!!
