COMMUNITY NEWSBeaconsfield WI celebrates Diwali!Having celebrated Diwali, we have plansto celebrate Christmas with a meal andentertainment.We meet once a month at 7-30pm in St Teresa’sParish Hall on the third Monday of the month. Alsoavailable to members are a Craft Club, a Book Cluband a Walking Group.Outings have included a Gin tasting, a visit to see theStrictly Dancing dresses being made and a visit to theFoundling Museum in London.During the year we have supported WycombeWoman’s Aid with fund raising and in more practicalways.Community issues are also supported. We havecampaigned for a Refill Water Fountain in the centreof the town, to remind people to use less plasticbottles, and taken part in the Mosaic project tobrighten up the town and to thank the manypeople who supported the town during the Covidpandemic.One Can TrustHow to get help andhow to help...What to do if you need helpThe food bank works on a referral systemwhereby one of their front-line partners willassess your needs.Volunteer at your local food bankIf you can spare a few hours weekly or fortnightly,they’d love you to join one of their volunteer teams.Roles vary from packing parcels to sorting throughdonations, delivering parcels and collecting foodfrom supermarkets.Please get in touch if you’d like to get involved tohelp us tackle food poverty and where possible,provide additional support to people in our localcommunity.Can you help with a cash or food donation?Right now, vulnerable families and individuals livingOur WI is part of the biggest Women’s organisationin the country. The National Federation (NFWI)campaigns on many issues such as Climate Changeand violence against women.
