The Seniors Festival is back! Try something new,
meet new people and have a great time at the
many free and discounted events being held this
month for residents aged 60 and over. Here’s a
taste of some events happening near you...
Online Safety
Scams are continually evolving.
This free information
session will provide an insight
into the latest risks, what to
look or listen for to avoid being
caught and where to get
help. The main presentation
will be followed by a short
information session on the
courses AVPALS will be offering
in Term 1, 2023. Followed
by afternoon tea! Tuesday
7th from 1.30pm-3pm at the
Newport Community Centre.

Carers support
Do you look after a family
member or friend with disability,
a medical condition,
mental illness or who is frail
due to age? Carer Gateway an
Australian Government program
providing free services
and support for carers can help
you. Find out all you need to
know at Mona Vale Library on
Monday 20th from 10am-1pm.
Free, no bookings required.
Square dancing
The wonderful Newport Ocean
Waves Square Dance Club
is offering four demonstration
nights every Tuesday in
February where seniors are
welcome to join in the fun for
free at the Ted Blackwood Hall,
Warriewood from 7.45pm-9pm.

take a step back in time as he

Cemetery tour
Hear the fascinating local history
linked to Mona Vale Cemetery
from an experienced
guide on Tuesday 21st from
9.30am. Meet at the Caretaker’s
Office, see inscriptions
and symbolic religious art and
hear stories of the pioneers
who settled and developed
the area. Reasonable level
of fitness is required for this
hour-long tour, wear walking
shoes, hat and sunscreen and
bring a water bottle. Bookings

Find out how you can share
your hobby or interest with
others or discover a new
pastime at Your Local Seniors
Group Expo. Browse more
than 20 information tables
from local community groups
and organisations at Newport
Community Centre on Friday

opening by Northern Beaches
Deputy Mayor Sue Heins will
be followed by a performance
by the Third Age Jazz Fusion,
health and wellbeing presentations
and giveaways! Free

Pittwater Cruise
Join the crew from Northern
Beaches Creative Leisure &
Learning to cruise around
Pittwater on Monday 27 from
10am-1.30pm. Take a guided
walk on the western foreshore
at Halls Wharf. Re-join the
ferry, take in the spectacular
views surrounding Ku-ringgai
Chase National Park, the
delightful bays and inlets
cruising back to Church Point.
